STATUS UPDATE ON DAWGSnTEXAS

January 13, 2026

HELLO!!! Just me sharing what is going on with DAWGS and thanking everyone who has been part of our journey and our family. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

We are continuing to rescue and save animals. We no longer have a physical shelter and depend upon fosters and boarding. Our goal is to rescue, vaccinate, sterilize and either adopt or transport to other rescues as soon as they are ready.
We are actively supporting three cat colonies in our area, using trap/sterilize/release into the same area, providing shelter/food/water.
We are actively supporting spay/neuter clinics with vaccinations and microchips.
We encourage children to be involved in the lives of animals.

The last few years have been difficult, not just for us but it seems for everyone.
Mark brought me a little framed picture one day; he had seen on his work travels. It states, “Live everyday as if something wonderful is going to happen.” I think that is so true, to always believe in hope. Hope for animals, hope for children, hope for our families and ours and their futures.

SO… I am changing this from a blog to a journal; with stories of current animals and previous animals we helped or are helping. I’m not going to share about struggles or daily challenges, because everyone reading this knows caring for animals is always a struggle. And I want you to know WordPress that provides this post, has taken me a week to even figure out how to post here. Technology is not my expertise; I would gladly clean pens or walk dogs rather than try to do this particular exercise. I am going to master this process and share those stories to hopefully encourage others to save animals and teach children to love them. And, for those that with their words, deeds, kindness and generosity have supported our journey, the joy of knowing what a difference they have made.

Love always, Diane and DawgsNTexas
